Converged Network Deployment for Government Office Complex

Designed and deployed a converged data/voice/video network across a multi-building government complex, replacing fragmented legacy infrastructure with a single Cisco-based platform.

Challenge

The complex operated three separate networks — one for data, one for an ageing PBX phone system, and one for internal video — each maintained by different vendors with no unified monitoring. Outages were frequent, voice quality was poor, and there was no visibility into performance until users complained.

Solution

Wicom designed a single converged network on Cisco infrastructure, migrating the PBX to IP telephony (Avaya-certified engineers led the voice migration). We implemented QoS policies to prioritize voice traffic, deployed a centralized monitoring dashboard, and ran parallel old/new systems for two weeks to ensure zero downtime during cutover.

Outcome

Voice quality complaints dropped to zero. Network outages decreased by 85% in the first six months. The unified monitoring dashboard reduced mean-time-to-resolution from hours to minutes. The client consolidated three vendor relationships into one.

IP CCTV Surveillance Deployment for Commercial Facility

Replaced an analogue CCTV system with a 24-camera IP surveillance deployment with motion-based alerts, mobile notifications, and 30-day recording retention.

Challenge

The facility's analogue DVR system recorded footage but provided no real-time alerts. After a break-in, staff spent 6+ hours reviewing tape to find the relevant footage. The system couldn't cover a new warehouse extension, and image quality was too poor to identify individuals.

Solution

Wicom deployed 24 Hikvision IP cameras covering the existing facility and new warehouse. We configured motion-detection zones for after-hours monitoring, automatic alerts to the security manager's phone, and a 30-day recording retention policy with cloud backup of flagged events. A central video management system replaced the old standalone DVR.

Outcome

Post-incident investigation time dropped from hours to roughly 30 minutes using the VMS search and filtering tools. Two intrusion attempts in the first quarter were detected and escalated in real time — both deterred before loss occurred. Image quality improvement enabled positive identification in flagged events.

Addressable Fire Alarm System for Multi-Story Building

Designed and installed an addressable fire alarm system with device-level identification across a 5-story commercial building, replacing a conventional zone-based system.

Challenge

The building's conventional fire alarm could only identify which zone was in alarm — not which device. Frequent false alarms led to occupant complacency. The system had no integration with building access or HVAC shutdown, and compliance documentation was outdated.

Solution

Wicom deployed a Bosch addressable fire panel with individual addressable detectors on every floor. We integrated fire alarm triggers with access control (automatic door release for evacuation) and HVAC shutdown (smoke extraction). All devices were commissioned with compliance documentation per Pakistan fire safety codes.

Outcome

False alarms decreased by 70% due to device-level diagnostics — each detector could be individually checked and cleaned. Evacuation drills confirmed door release and HVAC integration worked as designed. The building passed its annual fire safety inspection with zero deficiencies — a first for the property.

Lead-Generating Website with AI Chat for Service Business

Built a modern, SEO-optimized website with AI-assisted lead capture — chat widget, multi-step qualification form, and interactive estimator — designed to generate qualified enquiries from launch.

Challenge

The client's previous website was a static brochure that hadn't been updated in three years. It ranked poorly on Google, generated zero leads, and was invisible to AI answer engines. The business was losing enquiries to competitors with better digital presence.

Solution

Wicom designed and built a Next.js website with answer-first content structure, FAQ schema markup, and llms.txt for AI engine visibility. We implemented an AI chat widget that qualifies visitors, a multi-step form that reduces friction, and an interactive estimator as a lead magnet. All leads flow through a single backend that emails the client's team in real time.

Outcome

The site launched with 95+ Lighthouse scores across all categories and answer-first content structured for both traditional search and AI answer engines. The lead capture tools — chat widget, multi-step form, and estimator — are designed to convert visitors from day one, replacing the previous site's zero-lead static brochure.
